Ranks are final badges for completing a stage in Pizza Tower.
Their final outcome depends on the amount of points collected in the level, with the amount needed for higher ranks varying throughout each level, as well as enemies killed. In boss levels, the rank depends on the total damage taken.
Up to 32% Tower Status can be gained from getting better ranks on various levels. Getting P-ranks on all levels and completing every chef task grants an additional 1%.
Ranks[]
D-Rank[]
"AWFUL"
"DIE"
D-Ranks are usually given out when the player completes the stage with hardly any points, or when defeating a boss stage having taken 9 or more hits.
Peppino sarcastically congratulates the player with a fake smile and says "Good job! That was awful!". A big, black letter D appears. The word “AWFUL” is seen below.
The Noise, demonically enraged, begins yelling literal gibberish towards the player. A torn and scribbled paper with “DiE” written on it is shown.
The end of the rank music is played by a distorted and out of key trumpet, before ending on a cowbell instead of a drum.
C-Rank[]
"BAD"
"CRAP"
C-Ranks are usually given out when the player completes a stage with a mediocre amount of points, or when defeating a boss stage having taken 7 or 8 hits.
In the rank animation, Peppino glances off slightly to the screen's right, looking exhausted, and says "That was bad." A big, green letter C appears. The word "BAD" is seen below.
The Noise simply glares at the player furiously. A piece of paper with “CRAP” written on it is shown, along with a doodle of literal crap drawn on it.
The end of the rank music is a single note played by an organ.
B-Rank[]
"OK"
"BAD"
B-Ranks are usually given out when the player completes the stage with a decent amount of points, usually double the required amount for C, but not enough for an A-Rank, or when defeating a boss stage having taken 5 or 6 hits.
Peppino says "Oh! OK!" with a surprised face. A big, blue letter B appears. The word "OK" is seen below.
The Noise, unamused, raises his hand and says “Eh…”. A piece of paper says “BAD DO BetteR!!!!!” is shown.
The end of the rank music is the same as the C Rank.
A-Rank[]
"NICE!"
"Acceptable"
A-Ranks are usually given out when the player completes the stage with a high amount of points, usually double the required amount for B, or when defeating a boss stage having taken either 3 or 4 hits.
Peppino looks into the screen happily, shows a thumbs up and says "Very nice!". A big, red letter A appears. The word "NICE!" is seen below.
An uninterested but somewhat accepting Noise, facing towards the player, raises his hand again, and says “I’d prefer an S or a P…”. A longer piece of paper with “Acceptable” written on it is shown.
The end of the rank music now has an electric guitar holding the last note with the organ.
S-Rank[]
"PERFECT"
"PERFECT"
S-Ranks are given out when the player gets nearly every source of points in the level, usually double the required amount for A, or when defeating a boss stage having taken either 1 or 2 hits.
Peppino pumps his fists into the air and presumably yells out of joy. A big, golden letter S appears. The word "PERFECT" is seen below.
The Noise gasps in amazement with sparkling eyes.
The end of the rank music now has a trumpet holding the last note with the organ and electric guitar.
P-Rank[]
Peppino's P-Rank screen.
The Noise's P-Rank screen.
P-ranks are given out when the player meets the following requirements:
- The player reaches the score requirement of an S rank.
- The player starts their combo in the first room of the level, making sure not to break their combo at all until they complete the entire level.
- The player must find all the secrets and collect the Tower Secret Treasure for the respective stage.
- The player must complete Lap 2.
With The Crumbling Tower of Pizza (along with Secrets Of The World), due to lacking secrets, Tower Secret Treasures, and Lap 2, the player just needs to reach the score requirement of an S rank and make sure they do not break their combo.
With boss fights, the player must complete the entire fight without taking a single hit. The player does not need to collect all Toppins to earn P-rank, though it is recommended to get the score requirement of an S rank (each Toppin gives 1000 points).
Peppino, rather than coming in from the left, slides in through the right with an evil look, flinches at the player’s accomplishment, slides from the left back to the center, and strikes a pose as a deep purple background of the top of some form of fortress (possibly the actual pizza tower), flabbergasted enemies, and a huge, white letter P cracks into view.
The Noise, under a spotlight, bows twice (with each bow getting closer to the screen) and spins around while hanging from a rope in front of a purple stage with a large P in the back, striking a massive peace sign towards the player. While the results are being shown, the rope is unable to hold The Noise, worrying him. The rope snaps and he falls to the ground.
The rank music is drastically different, being played by an electric guitar throughout. The start of the rank music is also different, with the electric guitar fading in earlier than the other ranks.

Trivia[]
- All of The Noise's rank screens have been remade in his update, the appearance of his mustache having been thinned down and growing from the sides of his face rather than his nose. His eyelids were also changed to tan rather than yellow.
- His A-Rank screen has been completely overhauled, previously showing him sipping from a cup, donning a pair of sunglasses, smugly saying "Not an S". This had been changed more drastically than the others due to the introduction of the P-Rank.
- As of The Noise Update, The Noise is the only character to have a post-rank animation, that being for the P-rank.
- In the SAGE 2019 Demo, Snick does not get any ranks, possibly because of losing all points upon getting hurt. Instead, he's just brought straight back to the hub after beating the level.
- While The Vigilante was playable, he used The Noise's rank screens as a placeholder.
- In the October 2022 build, the P-rank was obtained by getting a score higher than the score required for an S-rank.
- The pose that Peppino strikes when receiving a P-rank resembles a "gesto dell'ombrello" also known as a "Bras d'honneur' — a rude gesture which is equivalent to flipping the bird. However, instead of making a fist and putting his right hand above his left arm, Peppino raises three fingers and puts his hand under his arm.
- The face that Peppino makes in the C-Rank screen seems to be based off of the face he made for the "Retry Level" option on the old pause menu. Although the C-rank screen predates the old pause menu.
- The final boss is the second level in the game that does not give a rank (the first being the Tutorial), while The Crumbling Tower of Pizza only shows the rank if entered by the portal and not through defeating Pizzaface.
- Ranks existed as early as Earlytestbuild.
- In Earlytestbuild, when completing the level and getting a rank, the game does not automatically do anything, meaning the player will have to manually quit or restart.
- The P-rank, however, was not fully implemented until the November 2022 build or earlier, had sprites as early as 2021, as that was the year McPig posted the animation for the rank on his Twitter, and was present, albeit in an incomplete form, in the Octob22 build.
- There was actually going to be a W-rank, though it got scrapped, how to get it is unknown, but it might've been getting a P-rank without taking damage.
- There's a common misconception that P-ranks have to be done hitless in regular levels, however you only have to do the level hitless for bossfights.
